Educators & Students

These workshops are suitable for educators interested in learning practical strategies to connect with their students, incorporating social and emotional learning in the classroom, and acquiring a deeper understanding of student behaviour and learning.

Social emotional learning and mental health is included in the Ontario Health and Physical Education (HPE) in the following ways:

  • The development of social emotional learning skills across the curriculum, in all grades starting in Kindergarten.

  •  Knowledge and skills related to mental health.

  • More opportunities to understand connections between physical and mental health.

These workshops complement the Ministry’s focus on mental health and social emotional learning within the educational system.

These workshops support the strong evidence that developing social emotional learning skills contributes to student well-being and successful academic performance.

Learning about and discussing mental health helps reduce stigma,   provides a safe environment to address important issues, and creates a pathway for seeking support.
